Mentor

Lab meetings are a great way to help keep a group of people organized and focused on their goals. Meetings with the whole group allow lab members and the PI to remain informed of events within the lab. They also can be a good forum for brainstorming and troubleshooting. However, lab meetings can become an inefficient use of time if they are not organized. Records of lab meetings also can be used to measure research progress.

    PC based PCB Drilling Machine

    It is used for screw-unscrew work and up-down movement of drill head which is connected with a dc motor for continuous rotation of drill bits that are controlled by excellon files.

    In this project working in-group of four a pc based PCB based drilling machine was manufactured. It occupies two stepper motors with their separate driving circuitries ULN2003 which are used for screw-unscrew work and up-down movement of drill head which is connected with a dc motor for continuous rotation of drill bits that are controlled by excellon files. These files are access by user to enter the co- ordinates for drilling through the keyboard. It includes parallel port interfacing of the project to the pc through RS232.

    NEGF Approach in SI Nanowire Transistor

    This approach is mend to find in any change in capacitance by considering the circular shape rather than cuboid.

    NEGF is a mathematical tool to study the iterations possible to compute the various parameters associated with nanowires owing to cut down the size of planar mosfets due to industrial developments. The work was to find that if there is any change in capacitance by considering the circular shape rather than cuboid.

    Zedboard

    It delivers a SoC-strength, IP-centric and system-centric, next generation development environment that has been built from the ground up to address the productivity bottlenecks in system-level integration and implementation

    Worked on Zedboard that comprises of FPGA and two ARM Cortex processors. Prepared a project that comprises of IPs - DMA, Zynq Processor, FFT. IP for a sample generator was created using Vivado 2013.4 and included in the design for generation of samples. The Vivado® Design Suite delivers a SoC-strength, IP-centric and system-centric, next generation development environment that has been built from the ground up to address the productivity bottlenecks in system-level integration and implementation. The Vivado Design suite is a Generation Ahead in overall productivity, ease-of-use, and system level integration capabilities. Vivado supports the following devices families: Ultrascale, Virtex-7, Kintex-7, Artix-7, and Zynq -7000.

    Metro Train Proto

    It is basically a project that based upon the embedded system that works bi-directionally over three junctions after preseted delays.

    In this project working in a group of two a prototype of Metro Train was manufactured. Basic structure consists of Atmel I.C.-AT89C51and Stepper motor along with it’s drive circuitry ULN2003 with their IC bases, buzzer, one LCD Displays, one Led, mini switch, power IC 7805, transformer. It is basically a project that based upon the embedded system that works bi-directionally over three junctions after preseted delays. It includes soldering of the mentioned components over the PCB prepared.

Developing a software to classify the atmospheric pattern using Artificial Neural Network for recognizing Earthquake Precursors

Development of acoustic radar pattern recognition software for earthquake precursor detection

The problem of earthquake precursor detection is a challenge all over the globe. Despite many efforts, the success is still elusive. This elusiveness is basically due to the fact that the field of earthquake precursor detection requires integration of multidisciplinary areas and this branch of science and engineering deals with a mammoth amount of real time data to be processed online. With this background, if we look at the efforts made within our own nation, the efforts are being made by several groups and claims of recording earthquake precursors after the earthquake event are over, are there but no one has come forward with confidence of sighting / recording the precursory signatures. One of the promising fields is the acoustic sounding of the atmosphere, here India has taken an international patent but its progress has not been seen anywhere in the literature. In the proposed work, I propose to carry out the work on acoustic sounder/ acoustic radar, which has been established at the REMTECH, Shamli and is the first Java based system available in India. This system records atmospheric dynamics on continuous basis thus giving photographic display of all the atmospheric processes right from the surface of earth upto a height of 1 km. The atmospheric processes are driven or created by the air molecules influenced by the atmospheric/earth temperature, atmospheric pressure, wind velocity and direction, moisture content, radiation or solar radiation, physical conditions on the surface of earth (albedo) etc. These molecules under all normal circumstances represent atmospheric dynamics. However air been the lightest medium on earth compare to water and solid earth surfaces is also the best indicator as it gets perturbed by the feeble energy releases associated with major earthquakes but to identify the influence of earthquake precursor in air is a mammoth task as each and every photograph available on the acoustic radar has to be named and categorized so that any new pattern on the acoustic radar gives an alarm so as to look for the reasons for its formation by the experts. This challenge of pattern nomenclature, pattern segregation into separate beings can only be done by a dedicated computer program, I propose to develop as part of this project.
